Log-polar mapping template design: From task-level requirements to geometry parameters
نویسندگان
چکیده
The best parameters defining the geometry of a visual sensor generally depend on the particular visual task the sensor is intended to be used in. However, translating task requirements directly into low-level geometric parameters may be difficult, since deep knowledge of the sensor design is usually required, but end users of a sensor need not necessarily be its designers. A framework is suggested to facilitate this translation by including an intermediate layer, the design criteria, between task requirements and sensor parameters. The proposed framework is illustrated with a log-polar space-variant vision model. The motivation behind using this particular sensor is the observation that, in the literature, little attention has been paid to the proper choice of the sensor parameters, or the lack of justification of the chosen configuration. Sets of general-purpose design criteria and task specifications are provided and discussed. The process of finding the best geometric parameters for a given set of (many and/or mutually conflicting) design criteria is automated with a multi-objective genetic algorithm. Some examples are given demonstrating the feasibility and potential of the approach. 2008 Published by Elsevier B.V.

A Rectification Scheme for RST Invariant Image Watermarking
Rotation, Shifting, and Translation (RST) invariant image watermarking is a very important research topic. In this letter, we report a new filtering method in the log-polar mapping (LPM), and a novel rectification method that can be used in any RST invariant image watermarking algorithms. We get a log-polar mapping of an image by calculating the Fourier transform of the image and resampling the...

Abstract Introduction: Workload can be defined as the hypothetical construct that represents the cost incurred by a human operator to achieve a particular level of performance. Each job has specific needs and demands. The better measurement tool assessing that estimate the workload, it’s need to identify the requirements of a task, the circumstances under which it is performed, and the skills,...
متن کاملMapping Activity Diagram to Petri Net: Application of Markov Theory for Analyzing Non-Functional Parameters
The quality of an architectural design of a software system has a great influence on achieving non-functional requirements of a system. A regular software development project is often influenced by non-functional factors such as the customers' expectations about the performance and reliability of the software as well as the reduction of underlying risks. The evaluation of non-functional paramet...
متن کاملRst-invariant Digital Watermarking Based on Template and Log-polar Mapping
This paper proposes a rotation, scaling, and translation (RST) resistant watermarking over the template matchingbased method. A one-way hash function is utilized to generate the highly secure embedding positions in the mid-frequencies against position attacks. A spread spectrum watermark is embedded into these positions in the frequency domain based on the local perceptual capability. This spre...
متن کاملWatermark re-synchronization using log-polar mapping of image autocorrelation
Many watermarking algorithms embed the watermark into the image as contiguous non-overlapping tiles. This tiling structure forms an implicit synchronization template that can be revealed through autocorrelation. This template is composed of a set of weak peaks, replicating the relative position of the watermark tiles. Hence, synchronization can be resolved by comparing the actual locations of t...
